1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing and using our Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these "Terms of Service". The terms "user", "you" and "your" refer to anyone accessing or using our Service.

You agree that by accessing the Service, you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by all of these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with all of these terms, then you are expressly prohibited from using the Service and you must discontinue use immediately.

2. Intellectual Property Rights

Unless otherwise indicated, the Service is our proprietary property and all source code, databases, functionality, software, website designs, audio, video, text, photographs, and graphics on the Service (collectively, the "Content") and the trademarks, service marks, and logos contained therein (the "Marks") are owned or controlled by us or licensed to us, and are protected by copyright and trademark laws.

3. User Representations

By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:

• You have the legal capacity to accept these Terms of Service
• You are not under the age of 13
• You are not a minor in the jurisdiction in which you reside, or if a minor, you have received parental permission to use the Service
• You will not access the Service through automated or non-human means
• You will not use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Your use of the Service will not violate any applicable law or regulation

4. User Registration

You may be required to register with the Service. You agree to keep your password confidential and will be responsible for all use of your account and password. We reserve the right to remove, reclaim, or change a username you select if we determine, in our sole discretion, that such username is inappropriate, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.

5. Subscription and Payments

We offer both free and paid subscription plans. By selecting a paid subscription, you agree to pay all fees in accordance with the pricing and terms displayed at the time of purchase.

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
• You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings
• Refunds are handled in accordance with our refund policy
• We reserve the right to modify our pricing with reasonable notice

6. Prohibited Activities

You may not access or use the Service for any purpose other than that for which we make the Service available. The Service may not be used in connection with any commercial endeavors except those that are specifically endorsed or approved by us.

As a user of the Service, you agree not to:

• Systematically retrieve data or content to create a collection, compilation, database, or directory
• Make any unauthorized use of the Service, including collecting usernames and/or email addresses by electronic or other means
• Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with security-related features of the Service
• Engage in unauthorized framing of or linking to the Service
• Upload or transmit viruses, Trojan horses, or other malicious code

7. User Generated Content

The Service may invite you to chat, contribute to, or participate in blogs, message boards, online forums, and other functionality, and may provide you with the opportunity to create, submit, post, display, transmit, perform, publish, distribute, or broadcast content and materials to us or on the Service.

Any content you post to the Service will be considered non-confidential and non-proprietary. By posting content to the Service, you grant us the right and license to use, modify, publicly perform, publicly display, reproduce, and distribute such content on and through the Service.

8. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and bar access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, under our sole discretion, for any reason whatsoever and without limitation, including but not limited to a breach of the Terms.

9. Modifications and Interruptions

We reserve the right to change, modify, or remove the contents of the Service at any time or for any reason at our sole discretion without notice. We also reserve the right to modify or discontinue all or part of the Service without notice at any time.

10. AI Features and Accuracy

The Service uses artificial intelligence (AI) to extract recipes from the photos, documents, links, videos and text you provide, and to generate content such as translations, nutrition estimates, ingredient substitutions, new recipes, meal plans and answers from the AI Chef assistant. How your content is processed by AI is described in our Privacy Policy.

AI-generated content can be inaccurate, incomplete or wrong, even when the original source was correct. In particular:

• Recipes. Ingredients, quantities, units, steps, cooking times and temperatures may be missing, changed or incorrect. Check an imported recipe against its original source before you cook from it.
• Nutrition. Nutrition values are estimates calculated by AI from the ingredient list. They are not laboratory measurements and should not be relied on for medical or dietary decisions.
• Substitutions and suggestions. Suggested substitutions, changes to a recipe and other answers from the AI Chef may not work as described or may not be suitable for you.
• Allergies and dietary needs. The AI Chef may take into account allergies or dietary preferences you tell it about, but it can make mistakes and can overlook ingredients. We cannot guarantee that any recipe, substitution or suggestion is free of a particular allergen or suitable for a particular diet or health condition. You are responsible for checking every ingredient and product label yourself.
• Food safety. Follow safe food handling practices and confirm safe cooking times and temperatures yourself.

The Service does not provide medical, nutritional or dietary advice. If you have a food allergy, an intolerance or a health condition, consult a qualified professional before relying on anything the Service generates.

You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before you use it, and you use it at your own risk.

11. Connecting AI Assistants

You can connect your Recipe One account to an AI assistant offered by another company, such as ChatGPT or Claude. The assistant is not part of the Service; its provider's own terms and privacy policy apply to your use of it. By connecting an assistant, you allow it to view and change your Recipe One content within the permissions you approve. Assistants can make mistakes, so review the changes they make; the "AI Features and Accuracy" section above also applies to content an assistant creates or changes. You can disconnect an assistant at any time in its settings. How your data is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.
